Traditional Narrow Boats

Over the years my narrowboat photos have become mixed up and my narrowboat webpages need revising. My webpage for 'Traditional Narrowboats' is frequently accessed, the others less so. I have decided to concentrate on a webpage for traditional boats and another for more recent leisure boats. I have another webpage with narrowboats which was for me to test setting up a slideshow, but it is so long since I looked at it I don't know where the heck it is now. I'll probably find it in the next few days. I hope to link these narrowboat webpages together so that they are more easily viewed.

It is not easy deciding what should go where. (I am not a narrow boat enthusiast, just a guy who has been involved with many types of boats & ships who has interesting narrowboats going past his computer room window.) So far I have tended to regard open-decked boats as traditional, or traditional style, and put the rest into a second webpage . That is too simplistic, but the best I can do for the moment. Just today I had a boat go past, Roston, with the sweetest engne sound I've ever heard, I felt that I'd be insulting the boat, as I have done with many other intersting boats, to put it in with the leisure cruisers.

Bear with me while I try and re-arrange things.

I try to avoid boats sailing north through MK, there isn't a nearby viewpoint where I can have the boat, in the sun, coming towards me.
LYRA was being towed by Harrier. When a butty is being towed the composition of the scene rarely makes a good picture.
